I'm fortunate to run a business in an industry that I'm truly passionate about, Personal Development.
I grew up in the Midwest and my husband is a Southerner. We're raising our son to be a global citizen while based in the United States.
My business allows us to live where we choose to live, travel and explore the world in a way that I only could have dreamed about as a kid.
Our travels have taken us from sea to shining sea, around the Caribbean, and we're just starting to scratch the surface of Europe. It's been an epic adventure!
I'm passionate about working with motivated men and women who want to create this level of freedom and flexibility in their own lives.
THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE: I spent over 20 years building a successful career in retail. I climbed my way up to my dream role - traveling the country to lead and develop other retail leaders.
Then, the company I worked for was acquired by another company and a whole new team was brought in above me.
Trying to bridge the gap between the old team and the new team left me completely drained emotionally and physically.
I knew I needed to make a change in order to protect my health and well-being.
THE BUSINESS THAT WAS A BUST: I had dabbled in online businesses in the past, spinning my wheels in the Health and Nutrition space as well as the Clean Beauty space.
But I found it difficult to create traction and build the client book I would need to replace my income. There was no way I could walk away from my retail career and still support my family financially by getting involved in another one of those businesses.
THE BOOK THAT LED ME TO SUCCESS: In my role developing retail leaders, I was constantly reading and recommending books on management, leadership, and organizational excellence.
It was while on a vacation that I picked up a book I've read many times that ultimately pushed me to make the leap.
"The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho is book I often revisit when I'm about to go through a life change. Anytime I was up for a promotion at work, before I became a mother, when we decided to relocate from Chicago to Nashville, I picked up that book and was reminded about my Personal Legend.
Before the airplane landed, I had started searching job boards and came across this opportunity on a platform I had never searched before. There was something about the posting that made me reach out to learn more - and the rest is history!
